Adult Sunday School

Baraca:
This discussion based class is made up of men and women, married and singles ranging mostly in their 50’s and 60’s. They are self taught and usually use books or studies for their curriculum. They also usually enjoy at least one or two social outings a year. They are known for the yearly lunch called Burgers for Bucks where they grill burgers and hot dogs as a fundraiser for different outreach projects. They are both liberal and conservative in their theology and are widely accepting of both spectrums. They meet on the third floor of the original building. Kay Walton: 833-3969
Bilshans:
The Bilshans are a mixed age group of adults ranging in their 40’s into their 80’s. They are married and single adults who are currently studying the gospel of Luke. They enjoy some lively discussions in their theologically mixed discussions. They meet on the third floor of the original building.

Friends Elective Class:
This is the class for people who don’t have a class! It explores topics you might not discuss in an ordinary Sunday school class. It is designed to be an elective class with various speakers, professors and topics from week to week. This class takes a break in the month of December, but will resume meeting in January 2008. The Friends meet in the 2nd floor education wing in the purple room.

Faith Builders:
This Sunday School class is a very open group of adults, both married and single. They meet weekly to discuss a variety of topics. They are mostly in their 30’s and 40’s and they meet on the third floor of the original building.

Builders:
This lecture class is largely made up of 80+ year olds, married and singles. They are self-taught and use the Present Word quarterly for their curriculum. They meet on the second floor of the original building, next to the women’s restroom by the chapel or parlor as some call it. They go out to eat at the Heritage Cafeteria on an occasional basis.

Loyal Workers:
This class of adults, marrieds and singles is made up of 70 and 80 year olds. They are lecture and discussion based in their curriculum, using mostly the Present Word quarterly for their studies. They enjoy an anniversary and Christmas party each year. They meet in the farther most north end classroom of the first story education building.

Mary Martha: This small, but active group of 70+ year old women meets weekly to study the Present Word quarterly curriculum. Their class is in the Prayer Room which is located off the hallway on the way to the north entrance of the sanctuary chancel.
January 2008 Friends Elective Classes:
January 7: "Healing - The Hows, Whats, and Therefores" What does healing mean? We will learn how to heal ourselves and others - it's not as hard as you think.
January 14: "Angels: Story, Legend, Truth" Do you believe angels are still around us, and what do you think they look like?
January 21: “Dreams” We will learn all about our dreams and how to cope with them.
January 28: “An Overview of The Kabala" What is it and why are people so interested in it? How it affects out lives today and how it relates to the Holy Scriptures.
The January sessions will be led by Sue Brown.
